Jeeny Back in Hospital

Regretably, having completed her radiotherapy at Coimbra Jeeny was admitted to her local hospital in Castello Branco on Friday 1st September. In the meantime she has placed her cats on an intensive fitness regime. OK, so I'm getting desperate for photos.

Jeeny was due to complete her 33 days radiotherapy last Thursday 31st August. However, on the Wednesday evening she was admitted to the Emergency Department at Coimbra. She had been experiencing high temperatures that week. A full examination was done and no specific problems identified, no viruses found.

So, Jeeny missed her final day of radiotherapy and returned to Castello Branco on that Thursday. Due to severe burning of the throat and oesophagus she has been unbale to eat or drink and I think that her general condition has become worse. She continued to experience a high fever and has been admitted to the local hospital in Castello Branco on Friday 1st Septemeber. I guess that she'll be placed on a IV drip to rehydrate her and we are hoping that she'll make a quick revovery.

The good news is that her sister Shantil has now arrived from Singapore and will stay for some 2 weeks. Good news indeed - well done Shantil.

Latest: I understand that Jeeny is doing well with antibiotics and a drip and we are hopeful that she'll be able to return to her home in a day or two.

I'll try to keep these pages updated.
