News - Not So Good...

Louisa and Jini on a recent visit to Lousã

BrancoBlogger regrets to have to announce a serious setback in Jini's condition. Following a consultation on the results of a recent PET scan cancerous cells have now been discovered in her right and only functioning lung. She has been offered further surgery to remove the offending tissue and if she is agreeable this will take place at the Coimbra hopsital within the next two/three weeks.

This is a difficult time for us all - her sister Shantini has just returned to Singapore before this news broke and Rohini and I are now back in the UK. Despite this bad news Jini remains positive and in good spirits and continues to work part time. Having just returned I must mention how grateful I am, and I know Jini is, for the help and support of all her friends in Castelo Branco without whom this 'journey' would have been considerably more difficult. Particular thanks to her school colleagues James & Nella, and to Louisa, Teresa and Leo who have provided so much support over the past months.

We are all desperately trying to find out further information so that Jini has the best quality of life over the coming months. I'll keep you all posted of any development here.
